Day 1: Saturday, July 20, 2024

Huller at Buller Workshop

(an unconventional curve class with some improvisation)

In this technique course you will learn how to sew long no-pin curves (elegant curve sewing without pins) using the Long Oval Drunkard's Path templates. These shapes are cut up and sewn together in a semi improvised way and a very skinny insert strip is inserted. Lots of opportunity to play with composition, shape and colour.

It will be a relaxed and playful course with (almost) unlimited design possibilities. Sew a few blocks for a mini quilt, a pillow or several blocks for an impressive quilt.

This full-day workshop will take place on July 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the floor.

The course language is English.

Day 2: Sunday 21 July 2024

Thistles, Cogs and Caterpillar Wheels

(Thistles, gears and caterpillar wheels)

In this class, Jenny will show you how to make a block she designed for the Modern Times Quilt - the classic New York Beauty block, but with a new twist.

You will learn how to design and assemble the different blocks, how to move and shift the different parts to change the look of the block.

You will sew curves in three sizes and play with Jenny's "Drunkard's Path" templates, which are used to create precise blocks that are easy to assemble.

Additionally, Jenny discusses all aspects of foundation paper piecing with freezer paper - how to prepare the paper, what stitch length to use, how best to assemble the block, and much more.
The techniques you learn will give you the knowledge and freedom to create your own Cogs Quilt.
This is a technique course and there is no sewing according to a pattern.
Sewing off-piste is expressly encouraged.
You can find examples from previous courses on Instagram under #thistlescogsandcaterpillarwheels.
You'll also play with fussy-cut blocks and stripes to create eye-catching effects.

This full-day workshop will take place on July 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
